    What tog should cot bed duvet be?

    As a general guide, a cot bed duvet should be between 4.5 and 7 togs. If you live in a warm climate or it is summertime, you may want to use a lower tog duvet. Conversely, if you live in a cold climate or it is wintertime, a higher tog duvet may be required.

    When can my baby have a duvet?

    Most babies will be able to use a duvet from around nine months old, but always check with your GP first if you are unsure. Duvets can be a suffocation hazard for young babies, so it is important to make sure your baby is old enough and able to safely use one.

    At what age should babies start using pillows?

    Again, this is something you should discuss with your GP, but as a general guide, most babies will be able to use a pillow from around 18 months old. Remember that pillows can also be a suffocation hazard for young babies, so always take care and follow your GP's advice.

    Are baby head pillows necessary?

    There is no medical evidence to suggest that pillows are necessary for babies, but some parents find them useful. If you do choose to use a pillow for your baby, make sure it is soft and lightweight. Never put a pillow in your baby's cot or crib.
